‘We are doing well’: 25-year-old Chelsea man sends message to Arsenal ahead of showdown

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling very optimistic ahead of their upcoming clash with Arsenal…

The Blues have made a decent start to the season, and buoyed on by a 6-0 victory over Qarabag, there is a lot of confidence amongst the fans in the pub.

It seems as though there is a lot of confidence within the Chelsea squad, too, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois speaking about the upcoming clash with Arsenal following the win at Stamford Bridge.

According to ESPN, he said: “Sometimes it is good to face a big team early. Last year it didn’t work out against Liverpool and Arsenal, but this season we have already won at Tottenham. It is good to face Arsenal now”.

Speaking about Chelsea’s current run of form, Courtois said: “We are doing well…We have shown good spirit, good football and good wins most importantly of all”.

It’s true that Chelsea’s start to the season has been fantastic. Barring a fifteen minute period against Burnley, the Blues have been near faultless, and they deserve a lot of credit for that.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have really struggled so far, and so there will be a real desire to make things right against the Blues. Courtois, though, seems to be ready for the game, and citing Chelsea’s fine form – he is warning Arsenal to expect the best of the Blues.

The stage is perfectly set for a big game on Sunday.

Landlord’s Verdict

Chelsea looked unstoppable against Qarabag, and Courtois will be hoping that that form will extend over to the weekend.

The Blues are already behind in the title race, and so a win would really put the pressure on Man Utd – who currently sit ahead of them.

Antonio Conte’s had a decent record against big sides during his tenure, and so there is a lot of confidence amongst fans in the Transfer Tavern.
