The Manchester City fans in the Tavern have been reacting to a story from ESPN FC, that claims John Stones won’t be leaving The Etihad this summer as Pep Guardiola only eyes minor changed to the squad. The story comes in response to an article in The Sun that claimed the ex-Everton man would be allowed to leave Manchester in the coming window.

The young centre-back has made 27 appearances for the Citizens this season and has been impressive when he’s played. Stones joined the club after leaving Goodison Park for a huge fee ahead of the 2016/17 season, although a catalogue of individual errors last season saw a number of fans question the signing of the ball-playing defensive figure. The current campaign has been marred by injury for the youngster, who’s currently recovering from a torn abductor muscle.
The current injury has put Stones on a race to be for the World Cup in Russia, but at least whilst he’s injured he doesn’t have to worry about finding a new club. According to reports, the only transfer business Guardiola wants to be involved in are small additions to the squad. Napoli’s Jorginho is one of the Spaniard’s key targets as he targets the Italian and another forward, with no intention of letting his young English defender leave the club. The news will come as a relief to City fans who believe Stones can kick his individual errors and claim himself a place in the Sky Blues’ history.

The sun is stupid, John stones had a remarkable 1st half in the season, unlucky to be hampered by a lot of injuries. He just needs to get back his confidence.
