The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been tearing into their English international, Danny Welbeck. The 27-year-old made his first appearance at the World Cup when he came off the bench with eleven minutes left to play and the Gunners had a good laugh about it.
GO ON WELBZ! @DannyWelbeck is on for @England – all the best, Welbz… we’re right behind you #ENG #BEL https://t.co/PELp7uz38l

Most Arsenal fans are all in agreement that Danny Welbeck is useless. The England number 14 has won 39 caps and scored 16 goals in that time. However, with Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Marcus Rashford occupying three of the four forward options in Gareth Southgate’s squad, with Welbeck somehow in their as the 4th choice. Even so, Raheem Sterling and Kane are the two preferred options up top.
Even yesterday, when there was nothing at stake, Welbeck was only allowed eleven minutes at the end of the second half, coming off the bench to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold as the Three Lions chased an equaliser. However, the 27-year-old was unable to impact the game and the Arsenal fans enjoyed watching him try to no avail to affect the game. Whilst Welbeck might be a big character in the dressing room, the Gunners are more than ready to cut their losses on the misfiring forward.

Whilst it was a good laugh for the Arsenal fans in the tavern to see Welbeck get some game time, they’ll be hoping he might get sold upon his return.
