However a picture pinned on the notice board by the landlord has caused intrigue among punters and staff with a challenge being set.
A note underneath the picture which has a series of photos of a child, says: ‘A free pint to the first person who can guess which Premier League footballer that these childhood snaps belong to..’
The landlord has been kind as he has offered a series of clues to the identity of the footballer:
‘I joined my current English team in January 2011, signing a five-and-a-half year contract from a Portuguese side.’
‘I scored opened my goalscoring account to help my new team secure a famous victory against Manchester United’
‘I am well renowned for my tough tackling and distinctive hair-raising appearance’
