Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Arsene Wenger will make an example of Alex Iwobi after he was caught on a night out, 48 hours before a match.
The majority of our regulars think that Wenger needs to make an example of Iwobi to nip in the bud a relaxed atmosphere in the future. If Wenger is to run his final years at Arsenal with an iron fist, any sign of weakness cannot be tolerated. Expected to be sanctioned if he’s found to have been out partying just hours before the Gunners’ loss to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, it’s another embarrassment for Arsenal.
In this January transfer window, Arsenal should be looking at replacing the possible departures of some first team players in the summer and offloading the passengers they’ve been carrying for the past few seasons. The Gunners boss should take this opportunity to ship out a couple more players, according to our landlord and between him the bar staff on the afternoon shift, they’ve compiled a list of potential outgoings of the Emirates door…
Theo Walcott

The former Southampton youngster has had some of his best years at Arsenal but it seems his time at the Emirates is coming to an end, despite being one of the most experienced players within the squad.
Game time has come few and far between this season and if Walcott still has desires to get himself on the plane to Russia, a move away in search of regular first-team minutes will benefit him ten-fold. He’s been at Arsenal for over a decade now and done very little to lead the line, despite a good run of form here and there.
Olivier Giroud

Having been largely used as a sub in recent months and making a reputation for himself as an impact player, Giroud seems frustrated at life at the Emirates. When a World Cup year swings around, it pops up many an unhappy player desperate for a move to ensure their place in the summer squad.
A move away with more of a first-team role than a bench warmer can only aid the Frenchman’s chances. Undoubtedly a top class player, he’d get into most other Premier League sides, without a doubt.
