Liverpool: Fans delighted by latest Timo Werner update

After nine weeks without a game, Liverpool-linked Timo Werner was back in action this past weekend, lining up for RB Leipzig against SC Freiburg at an empty Red Bull Arena.

Whilst the former were strong favourites going into the match, they were only able to grab a point despite having 62% possession and nine shots on target to their opponents’ two. Werner himself did not have the best game, failing to hit the back of the net, and it was his strike partner Yussuf Poulsen who instead pulled Die Rotenbullen level.

Given he still has 27 goals to his name in all competitions this term, though, it is unlikely that the Anfield outfit will drop their interest in him. Now, journalist Kevin Palmer has provided another update on the 24-year-old. He says that the Germany international’s agent has confirmed that Werner has no interested in joining either Chelsea or Manchester United, and that his heart is set on a move to Liverpool.
