West Ham fans have all been having their say on the best way to approach Crystal Palace on Saturday after their impressive performance that earned a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Monday night. Marko Arnautovic missed that game through a foot injury, and whilst the Austrian is back in contention, the Hammers think he should be benched.
So basically on the show Dave said Arnautovic should come straight back in for Hernandez and I said he shouldn’t because we played well without him and he should be on bench. Don’t change a team that’s played well and sends wrong message out! What do you think…. https://t.co/JnWrV7Dzvy

Popular West Ham fan account ExWHUEmployee tweeted asking the supporters what they’d like to see on Saturday, and the majority of the supporters believed that they should keep going with Javier Hernandez in the side. That would mean leaving their Austrian mercenary on the bench, which wouldn’t be all bad, especially given his horror show when they lost 3-0 to Wolves in midweek the week before.
The ex-Stoke man may be one of the Hammers’ most influential players, but when he’s not on song he can be more of a hindrance than a help to the Irons cause. His tally this season of seven goals and two assists is certainly impressive, but when his ego and attitude come into play it only spells bad things for the Hammers, and it’s easy to see why the Hammers are keen for him to be benched this weekend.
You can read the Irons’ verdict on whether Arnie should feature on Saturday here:
Arnie was terrible at Wolves jogged around huffing and throwing his arms about, needs to start on the bench and earn his way back. If it ain't broke don't fix it

Said the exact same thing on our show last night, too. Should be an unchanged team, let Arnie earn his place back.

Totally agree. Don’t complicate with egos or politics: The team played well, so keep playing it. Arnautovic has to earn his place after injury like anyone else. Great impact sub though.

You’ve always said this so you’re consistent. Personally I cannot stand Arnautovic now.
We’ve won more than enough without him to know he doesn’t matter as much as he did last season. I’d bench him for the season & only use him when we need.

Agree totally let Arnie earn his place back. Give Hernandez a good run let’s see what he can do

Leave Arnie out. Our decline started with his nonsense. The minute he’s not around we pick up. I doubt that is a coincidence. That coupled with the fact that Hernandez makes it an easy decision for me…and probably Pellegrini.

100%agreestart him on the bench. If he wants the perks of his new contract then his gotta earn them

The Hammers are keen to leave Arnautovic on the bench this weekend, and given his display against Wolves who can blame them.
