This morning on West Ham’s official Twitter account the club posted a video of a huge win they recorded against Crystal Palace away at Selhurst Park three years ago to the day. Goals from Carl Jenkinson, Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet won it for The Hammers and the supporters have been commenting on how much they miss their French wizard.

For a lot of West Ham fans, Dimitri Payet is right up there alongside Paulo Di Canio as one of their best players ever to play for the club in the Premier League era. The Frenchman wasn’t at the club for very long but he didn’t need much time to show what he was capable of. From rabona-assists to cheeky chips to 30-yard free-kicks, the Frenchman had it all and the Hammers were always dazzled when he was involved.
The 2015/16 season was a special one for The Irons. They started the Premier League in fine form and secured a treble of away wins at The Emirates, Anfield and The Etihad on their way to achieving a 7th place finish. Payet (now valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt) was their top-scorer that season with 9 Premier League strikes and 12 in all competitions and there isn’t much that the supporters wouldn’t do to get the 31-year-old back at the club, even just for one more season.

The moment we realised we had an absolute gem of a player and for one season he was awesome and gave us some amazing memories!

We want payet back

The Hammers loved having Payet among their ranks during the 2015/16 season and would do anything to get the Frenchman back.
