West Ham manager David Moyes may be keeping an eye on his academy prospects in order to see if he can find any emerging talents.
However his latest Instagram post seems to suggest a return is near as he posted an image on his 18th birthday, with the caption, ‘Birthday boy. Back soon! ⏳💫’.
The future looks bright for the young West Ham star
The 18-year-old was involved in the academy at Manchester United (Transfermarkt) and featured twice for their under-18 side, scoring once. He then moved to the Irons in October 2019 after being released by the Red Devils. In east London, Odubeko has featured nine times for the under-18 and under-23 sides, with an impressive haul of 12 goals.
He has certainly stood out at youth level and could be a huge asset to West Ham’s under-23s in their Premier League 2 campaign. Indeed, such form may yet earn him that coveted senior call-up from Moyes.
Judging by his scoring return, Odubeko may well be the next bright young thing to make the leap from West Ham’s academy to the first team.
