According to reliable club source ExWHUemployee, Celtic star Odonne Edouard has emerged as a potential target for West Ham United in the hunt for a new striker – as the Frenchman’s contract expiring in 2022 meaning the SPFL giants could decide to sell him.
The insider claims that there is ‘less reason’ for the Hoops to hold on to Edouard given his value is in danger of plummeting further, coupled with the fact that Celtic are already far behind arch Glasgow rivals Rangers.
Edouard enters West Ham radar
ExWHUemployee says an agent has emailed him to suggest Edouard is on the transfer shortlist for West Ham, and this source apparently has been ‘involved’ in trying to bring ‘numerous targets’ to east London.
Scoring seven goals in just 15 Scottish league starts, whilst assisting seven others in that time (Transfermarkt), Edouard has arguably been a glimmer of light for Celtic during an otherwise regretful campaign so far.
Transfer Tavern take
Manager Neil Lennon lauded his exploits this season as ‘magnificent’ after their recent 3-0 win over Hamilton (Glasgow Live), with the 6 foot 2 ace potentially about to be in high demand as West Ham become named as a suitor.
Time is running out for GSB to land a suitable attacking threat to replace their record signing Sebastien Haller, who was recently sold to Ajax, but with Edouard, they may have found a prime candidate as ExWHUemployee claims the club could move for him this month.
