Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are delighted to hear that Manuel Pellegrini is keen to freshen up his defence as The Mirror reveal that they are considering a surprise move for West Ham United’s left back Aaron Cresswell.
This is the 25-year-old’s debut season in the Premier League and he has shown great maturity and has been a breath of fresh air after moving from Championship side Ipswich Town last summer.
Sam Allardyce snapped him up for £4 million and Cresswell has since managed to become a key figure in the Hammers’ starting line-up.
And it is no shock that City are now jumping on the bandwagon now that there has been talk that he will be earning a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad.
West Ham will hope to keep hold of Cresswell as they move into the Olympic Stadium for the 2016/17 campaign.
But if they do lose Cresswell, they will make a huge profit as the deal would easily exceed the amount they paid for him.
