‘What about the League One promotion team?’ - Leeds fans react to star’s bold claim

Our Leeds United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are brimming with confidence at the moment and it seems as though the players are feeling just the same.

Indeed, you can see why they feel just that way at the moment as they continue to look good for play-off qualification and, after Brighton lost and they won last time out, automatic promotion is also that bit closer.

There’s now just seven points between the Whites and the Seagulls in 2nd with the momentum firmly with the Elland Road club at the moment.

What happens, of course, remains to be seen but Leeds midfielder Liam Bridcutt has certainly painted a confident picture ahead of the season run-in.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds he claimed that the current crop of players was “Probably the best Leeds team in 15 years,” sparking much debate here by the bar.

It’s certainly a bold claim given that the Whites were in the Premier League at the start of that period but it’s also a fair shout given where they’ve been since.

Our landlord thinks it’s a great discussion to have at the moment and so he’s taken to Twitter to see what’s being said.
