Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are seriously looking forward to the rest of this season with them starting in pretty decent fashion in the Championship.
The Black Cats have come up against three sides – in Derby, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday – that will feel that they can get promoted this season and have not lost one of them.
Indeed, that is certainly impressive for a side many felt would struggle again this season and so Simon Grayson and his players need to be credited for the work they’ve put in to prove people wrong so far.
For sure, then, a promotion challenge of their own is on the cards and fans have certainly reacted to the solid, positive point they got against the Owls last night at Hillsborough.
