Charlton Athletic are certainly enjoying life under Lee Bowyer this season in League One.
The Addicks currently occupy a playoff spot and are in a good position to continue to push on further up the table.
The Valley outfit are currently on a run of three successive league victories at the moment and have a number of players appearing to be firing on all cylinders.
The likes of Lyle Taylor and Karlan Ahearne-Grant have both recorded double figures in front of goal, which has helped them keep pace with the rest of the promotion contenders this season.
With Charlton’s current off-the-field situation one that can hardly be ignored, and the job that Bowyer has been able to achieve, it does beg the question about what the future holds for him.
The former midfielder rejoined the club as an assistant manager to Karl Robinson in July 2017, however, he was promoted to caretaker boss in March of this year when the manager decided to leave.
Bowyer was initially appointed on a caretaker role and won his first three matches, allowing him to keep the job until the end of that season.
However, it was not until September, when this season’s campaign had already started, that he had been named as the permanent manager of the Addicks, which has proven to be a smart move.
The 41-year-old has an excellent record in charge of Charlton, having won 18 of the 37 games he has overseen, losing just 12 of those in the process.
However, with stats as impressive as his are, it could cause the south London club a little concern as it will not be long before other sides start to take notice of his achievements.
With the season starting to approach the business end and owners and chairmen starting to get anxious about things happening at their clubs, someone could come in for Bowyer that would leave him with a difficult choice.
