Following their impressive destruction of Fulham on Sunday, are Man City now ready to win the league?
With Chelsea seemingly in turmoil, Man Utd although being unbeaten not playing very well and Arsenal doing their usual job of bottling it when it matters, it seems the way is clear for new champions to come forward. Are Man City that team?
If you saw their dominating performance against Fulham, usually a tough place to go to, you would have witnessed Carlos Tevez in sparkling form, and a display that showed the rest of the Premier League what is needed to win the league. Tevez was on fire, and is already an early candidate for player of the season.
City seem to have it all. They’ve obviously got the talent, they’ve got the defence and ‘keeper to keep clean sheets and they’ve also got the protection in front of that defence from a wealth of classy holding midfielders. Now they seem to have the confidence in attack and the options to tear teams apart at will. Following an early dip in form, they are now only 3 points off Chelsea, is it a matter of time before they hit top spot?
And obviously they’ve got the money if needed. Their bench on Sunday showed the ridiculously brilliant resources they have at their disposal and if another striker is needed in January (possibly to replace the outgoing Emmanuel Adebayor) then they can always buy whoever they want.
It seems money can buy you happiness, and it has for Roberto Mancini.
