The Man City fans are flocking to the Transfer Tavern as they discuss the future of their young stars over a few drinks.
Although it may not seem like it, given how much money Manchester City have and spend as a club, they have a huge focus on their youth development programmes.
Their reserve team was replaced by what they call their ‘Elite Development Squad’ as they look to grow stars of the future.
And right now, within their ranks, they do have some stars of the future.
Unfortunately for these players however, there is no place in Pep Guardiola’s starting 11 for them right now but they are too good for the development squads.
These youngsters will be thankful of the loan system then, so long as they’re not playing for Chelsea.
There are a few players who, if given sufficient time out on loan next season could come back to really make an impact on the City team.
With that being said, here are two Man City players who should spend next season on loan in the Championship.
Patrick Roberts

Patrick Roberts has spent the last 18 months on loan at Celtic where he helped them achieve the unbeaten season during the 2016/17 campaign.
As good as that experience has been for him, our landlord is still a believer that the Championship would provide the 20-year-old with a tougher test than the Scottish league.
That tougher test will take him to the next level of his game and then he should be able to return to City as much more useful player.
Phil Foden

At only 17-years-old, Phil Foden could be on track to become England’s next superstar.
His performance against rivals United in the first ever Manchester derby to be staged outside of the UK earned him a lot of praise from Pep Guardiola and now the world has taken notice.
He obviously won’t be getting in the City first team this season so a loan down to the Championship would give him the perfect level of experience to take his game to the next level.
