Journalist Tim Spiers has waxed lyrical over Wolves youngster Chiquinho, describing him as a 'ridiculous talent' who could have a big future at Molineux.

The Lowdown: Chiquinho finding his feet

The 22-year-old joined Wanderers from Estoril in the January transfer window, but he has had to be patient so far, in terms of earning regular playing time.

Chiquinho has only managed 49 minutes of Premier League action, spanning five cameo appearances, with Bruno Lage biding his time with his new signing.

The Portuguese started for Wolves' Under-23s in Monday's 4-2 win over Newcastle United, producing an eye-catching performance that didn't go unnoticed.

The Latest: Spiers hails Wolves youngster

Writing on Twitter after game, Spiers lauded Chiquinho's potential, comparing him to Adama Traore in style:

"There are similarities (Chiquinho can't finish either ), he's still very raw and chases the ball a bit, but ultimately will be a more well-rounded player I think with less explosiveness. From what I've seen in the last few months he's a pretty ridiculous talent."

The Verdict: One for the future

Patience may be required with Chiquinho, given his rawness as a player, but Spiers' assessment is clearly exciting, suggesting he could be a key figure in the future.

With Francisco Trincao not likely to stay on at Molineux, more opportunities may arise for his compatriot and we might begin to see more of him next season.

At 22, Chiquinho has time on his side and he can continue to develop at his own speed, but over time, he could become one of the most exciting and important players at the club.
