Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fairly content with the start to the season though they’ll be hoping for more this weekend.
Indeed, they’re buoyed by the fact that there attacking flair is still right there – despite Philippe Coutinho’s current absence – but their defensive woes are still an issue.
For sure, they should have won the game against Watford last weekend but they did get an important victory during this week against Hoffenheim and so there’s positives at the start of this campaign.
The Reds, then, need to be building on that with a win this weekend against Crystal Palace in a match that should see the emerging Trent Alexander-Arnold play again.
The young right back has seized the opportunity to play whilst Nathaniel Clyne is injured with some fine displays and a great goal against Hoffenheim.
And, in light of that, Alberto Moreno has heaped praise on him – leaving Reds fans to react to that on Twitter:
