After weeks of build-up in the Football Transfer Tavern, the Man Utd vs Liverpool game failed to deliver on any of the expectations that it had produced.
Our punters in the Tavern were expecting a great game, but in reality, we got a cagey affair with neither side looking particularly impressive.
In fact, the biggest talking point from the game wasn’t a shocking miss or a terrible tackle as expected; it was actually a statistic.
Despite being a side that typically dominated possession, Man Utd had just 34% of ball possession throughout the 90 minutes – the lowest that they have ever had in the Premier League
It would appear that Jose Mourinho has finally arrived in Manchester – and he has brought his dull, slow form of football with him.
As expected, the punters in the Tavern found that stat particularly hilarious – especially given the huge array of talent on display for the Red Devils.
