Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern has kept a close eye on our northern neighbours Celtic over in the SPFL – where they’ve been breaking records and running away with the title under former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers!

The Bhoys have taken the League by storm, despite the return of Rangers that many thought would distract Celtic, but it’s simply given them more motivation to dominate the league.

However, even in their spell of dominance, some of the lads in the squad simply haven’t been playing to the standard that Celtic fans have come a custom to this season.

With that, it’s very likely that the club will have a little clear out of players in the summer.

So, here are the TWO Celtic players that fans surely cannot wait to see axed in the summer…

GARY MACKAY-STEVENS

The former Dundee United midfielder has not really made the impact that many thought he would at the club.

Failing to impress going forward, the Scotsman has certainly drawn the ire of the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern.

Mackay-Stevens will surely be wanting to seek a new club in order to ensure his career doesn’t become stagnant.

KRIS COMMONS

The one time hero for the Hoops has fallen down the pecking order and having returned from a loan spell with Hibernian, it’s very likely he’ll be out the door this summer.

He’s not shown the commitment that the fans deserve from a player and he clearly doesn’t want to be at the club and isn’t getting any younger – we are sure the fans won’t be to fussed by his departure.
