Liverpool supporters have once again been left to rue their side’s inability to defend after seeing the Reds throw away a three-goal lead at half time to only draw 3-3 with Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night, thus making them wait to qualify for the last 16 of the competition.

Jurgen Klopp’s men looked to have turned a corner by keeping three clean sheets in their previous four matches in all competitions, and they flew into a commanding lead in Spain on Tuesday night thanks to a brace from Roberto Firmino as well as Sadio Mane’s fourth of the campaign. However, their defensive frailties were again exposed as a Wissam Ben Yedder brace brought the hosts right back into it, before they snatched a point late on through Guido Pizarro to keep Liverpool waiting to book their place in the knockout stages.

Thus, there have been many frustrated Liverpudlians in the Tavern in the last few hours, with many already turning their attentions to their crucial Premier League clash with champions Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday, where Klopp’s men will know that victory will take them level on points with Antonio Conte’s Blues.

In the meantime though, there has been plenty for our resident Reds fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports linking goalkeeper Adam Bogdan with a move to Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The former Bolton Wanderers shot-stopper is comfortably third-choice at Anfield behind Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, and as such has yet to play a single minute of first team action for the club this term, albeit injury may well have contributed to his struggles.

Nonetheless, he is reportedly being eyed up by Forest chief Mark Warburton, and were the Hungary goalkeeper to move to the City Ground in January, here are TWO other Liverpool stars who could follow him to the second tier outfit…

Jon Flanagan

Jon Flanagan has struggled to convince manager Klopp of his capabilities this season, despite the Reds seeing number one right-back Nathaniel Clyne seriously struggle with injury.

The form of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez has condemned the 24-year-old to three Premier League 2 appearances and just one senior game this term, which came back in their Carabao Cup defeat to Leicester City back in September.

And with the aforementioned duo continuing to perform for the Reds, Flanagan will surely have to look to leave in January, and Forest could be a potential destination for the Englishman as he seeks regular gametime and minutes on the pitch.

Ben Woodburn

Ben Woodburn shot to prominence last season by netting in Liverpool’s 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Leeds United at Anfield, but the youngster is going to struggle for regular gametime at the Merseyside giants.

The 18-year-old only earned eight further senior appearances last term for Klopp’s side and only four of them were starts, while this time round he has managed just 44 minutes of first team action, which came in their Carabao Cup loss at Leicester back in September.

And with the forward now a Wales international, he’ll know that he needs minutes on the pitch to remain a regular feature in their squad, and he may get that gametime at the City Ground.

Sunderland, and former Wales chief Chris Coleman, have been linked with Woodburn, but Forest should seek to get a deal done in a bid to bolster their attacking options.
