Life amongst the Newcastle United fans here in the Transfer Tavern isn’t great at the moment. While, weirdly, the club remain five points above the drop after no wins in six games, their recent form has been a worry.
So, imagine the delight amongst our punters clad in black and white following reports from the Chronicle. Indeed, they claim that Rafa Benitez could welcome back both Christian Atsu and Paul Dummett for this weekend’s game against Leicester City, a huge boost for the Magpies.
The former has been missing for the last few games after impressing in a wide-forward role for the Toon Army, while the latter hasn’t featured for the Magpies since the opening day defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur way back in August.
With the team not proving all too impressive of late, this is good news at last for the Geordie contingent in our bar.
