2 players Man United could target over Griezmann if he snubs them this summer

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern have been hoping that their side will be able to land Antoine Griezmann this summer…

Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Man Utd have become a juggernaut of the transfer market. Whilst Sir Alex Ferguson made a name for himself by signing relatively unproven talent, Mourinho has switched tact completely – with the likes of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming in this season.

The Man Utd fans in the Tavern were delighted when they signed, but given how well they have performed – they have been left wanting more. Man Utd undoubtedly need to get back to the top of the Premier League table, and sometimes the only way to do that is by brute spending power.

One player that any Premier League fan would like to see come to their club is Antoine Greizmann, and whilst the Man Utd fans in the pub were confident of landing him – they have been dealt a pretty significant blow today.

According to the Sun, the forward won’t join Man Utd if they don’t get Champions League football, and at present – qualification is looking far from assured.

It isn’t all lost for Mourinho though, and if the Frenchman isn’t available – there are more than a few alternatives available to him.

With that said, these 2 players Man United could target over Griezmann if he snubs them this summer…

Romelu Lukaku

If Mourinho is looking for proven Premier League quality, then look no further than Romelu Lukaku.

The powerful Belgian has really impressed this season, with a 4-goal haul against Bournemouth last weekend argueably his best performance yet.

He is man made for the Premier League, and whilst Mourinho didn’t get a chance to really manage him at Chelsea – now is the perfect time for him to make a big money move.

The Belgian will be electric in a Red shirt.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Another high-profile name, if Mourinho wants goals – look no further than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

A very different player to Lukaku, Aubameyang is far more comparable to Griezmann in that he is quick, technical and a fantastic dribbler.

He has bagged 17 goals in 17 appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season, and he would likely continue in that vein in the Premier League.

Pace or power – it is up to Mourinho to decide.
