2 players who could follow Alex Sandro to Manchester United in January

Red Devils here in the Tavern have been in high-spirits of late, after finishing first in Group A of the Champions League group stage.

In what is his second season in charge of United, Jose Mourinho has taken them on a journey that all fans here in the Tavern have thoroughly enjoyed, having breezed through their European group-stage to now sitting proudly in a respectable league position.

However, after seeing the lighting quick start that bitter rivals City have made it’s highlighted the need to improve on their squad come January time, because without any key additions it will become very difficult to catch the runaway train.

Indeed, fans here have been scattered around the bar discussing possible signings and transfer rumours, but one that’s become apparent is Mourinho looking to swoop in for left-back Alex Sandro, after the Express reported of their interest.

The Brazilian has attracted interest from Chelsea over the past couple of transfer windows, but has been playing his football in the Italian Serie A for giants Juventus.

Nonetheless, with the player looking for a way out in January, Mourinho is now looking to hijack the services of the defender having suffered with a lack of trust in Luke Shaw after his injury. Yet, with a supposed £80 million transfer budget in January, here’s a look at TWO other stars who may just follow the 26-year-old to Old Trafford.

Fabinho

The Monaco central-defensive-midfielder has been one of the breakthrough acts in Europe this year, in what is a very talented young side.

Brazilian Fabinho has provided 2 goals and 1 assist from the deep position he works his magic in, with him now looking like stiff competition for Nemanja Matic as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

For a player that United tried to sign before acquiring Matic, it looks as if they are going to try a second-time with reports suggesting that a £75 million price-tag has been slapped on the midfielder who’s attracted attention from City and PSG in recent times, meaning that if the Red Devils do decide to go ahead with then a huge statement of intent will be sent out.

In a position that only holds limited back-up for Mourinho’s side, a move must be warranted in January.

Malcom

The right-winger has established himself as one of the rising stars of world football, having set the Ligue 1 alight this season with some net-busting goals.

In his 18 matches played for French club Bordeaux this season, he’s managed to tally 7 goals and 5 assists to go with his dazzling array of skills and tricks.

After making a move for wonder-kid Anthony Martial during his younger years at Monaco, why not take a gamble on securing the talents of the 20-year-old Brazilian forward?

There’s no surprise that the Red Devils are in for yet another in-form starlet, with reports in The Sun suggesting that United are set to ramp up their interest in the winger after watching him a couple of weeks back. However, it won’t be easy as a whole host of European giants such as; Liverpool, Chelsea, PSG, Tottenham and Bayern Munich have all taken a liking to his work.

Having shown such quality at such a young age, there could be exciting times ahead if they can lure him to Old Trafford.
