Liverpool supporters have been particularly buoyant in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to eight matches with a thumping 5-1 success over Brighton on Saturday, a result which also took them into the Premier League’s top four.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with the Seagulls off the back of easing past Stoke City 3-0 at the bet365 Stadium in midweek, and they produced another clinical attacking display to dismantle Chris Hughton’s side on the South Coast. First half goals from Emre Can and Roberto Firmino gave the visitors a healthy cushion, and strikes after the break from Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, as well as an own goal from Lewis Dunk, sealed a comprehensive victory for the Merseysiders, who in turn moved above Arsenal into fourth place following the Gunners’ defeat to Manchester United.
Thus, there have been several delighted Liverpudlians in the Tavern this week, many of whom are eagerly anticipating their team’s clash with Spartak Moscow in the Champions League tonight, with Klopp’s men knowing that victory will secure top spot in Group E, and thus their place in the last 16.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Reds fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports suggesting that they are interested in a move for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.
The 28-year-old Frenchman is well-known to English football fans for his three-year stint at Stoke City between 2012 and 2015, yet he has since gone from strength to strength with 108 appearances for the Spanish club, in which time he helped them win the Europa League back in 2016.
However, the midfielder hasn’t featured for Sevilla since their incredible 3-3 draw with Liverpool a few weeks ago, and as such his future looks far from certain amid reported interest from several Premier League clubs, including Klopp’s Reds.
And were N’Zonzi to indeed make the move to Anfield in January, here are TWO other stars who could follow him to the Merseyside giants…
Leon Goretzka

Leon Goretzka’s future at Bundesliga outfit Schalke has been subject to speculation for a while now, what with his contract up in the summer, and being just a few weeks away from potentially signing a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been in fine form for the German outfit this term with four goals in 11 league games, taking his overall tally for the club to 19 in 130 appearances.
However, with it seeming that his future is away from Schalke, Liverpool must act fast to bring him to Anfield, especially with the futures of Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho far from certain.
Klopp’s men are one side reportedly interested in Goretzka, as are several other top European clubs, in what would be a clear statement of intent from the Reds were they to get a deal done in January.
Thomas Lemar

Thomas Lemar played a key role in Monaco’s incredible success last term, with the France international bagging 14 goals and laying on 17 assists to help Leonardo Jardim’s men win the Ligue 1 title, as well as reach the last four of the Champions League.
However, the French side were decimated by big money departures over the summer, and although the 22-year-old wasn’t one at the time, he reportedly came close to making a move to Premier League side Arsenal.
And reports suggest that he could be on his way out of the Stade Louis II in January, as Klopp’s Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a move for the forward, what with Philippe Coutinho’s Anfield future far from certain.
And with Arsenal also thought to retain an interest, it’s a move the Reds must get done come the New Year.
