Surely this can’t be real? No way.
Arsenal are interested in signing Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The last player to make the switch across North London was Sol Campbell who went on to win many trophies at Arsenal, but became public enemy number 1 for all Spurs fans.
The Landlord at the Tavern simply cannot believe that Arsenal are even thinking about signing the PFA Young Player of the Year, it would cause an incredible riot in North London, but would he be a great fit for Arsenal?
Alli famously said that he would rather quit football than play for Arsenal only a few months ago on Twitter, but what would the consequences be if he were to make the switch.
There is no denying Alli’s quality but surely this would be one of the most controversial transfers in Premier League history.

Pro – Long term quality
Alli was unbelievable for Tottenham last term.
As a teenager, Alli tore up the Premier League which clearly shows he means business and has plenty of years ahead of him.
Alli isn’t just a player for the future, he is class right now and the Tottenham fans at the Tavern are trembling at the thought of losing their star man, especially to Arsenal!
Con – First XI
Of course, it is always a luxury to have great players on the bench but surely the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Granit Xhaka and Jack Wilshere would have to be rotated in order to get Alli in the side.
Players would definitely leave the Emirates if Alli were to join the Gunners, as they would want game time too!
Pro – Goals
Football is about scoring goals and Dele Alli is a master of the art.
Alli assisted plenty and scored a ton for Spurs last season, most noticeably his wonder strike against Crystal Palace which shows he isn’t afraid to shoot from outside the box, something Arsenal fans have been begging for.
The Gooners by the pool table would love to see Alli in an Arsenal shirt, and not whilst playing FIFA 16.
Con – Style of Play
As talented as Alli is, there is no way he would fit into the Arsenal side.
Alli loves the ball at his feet and dribbling at players and as mentioned, shooting!
Arsenal are a side who love to pass the ball about and walk the ball into the net.
Perhaps if a different man was in charge, Alli would be a perfect player for Arsenal.
Another reason to call for Wenger Out. The Arsenal fans will take any excuse they can to call for his head!
