It has been a strong summer from the Red Devils, and with a few new players, our landlord is backing them to challenge for the Premier League title.
However, before the Premier League season gets underway, there is the small matter of a clash against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup.
The two clubs, arguably two of Europe’s most recognisable, have fought a number of times in the past for big trophies, and this battle will likely be as competitive as ever.
A win for the Red Devils will set them up nicely for the new campaign, whilst the mighty Real Madrid will be expected to run away with the game. All things considered, it’s shaping up to be a great clash.
Our landlord is convinced that Man Utd, despite not really being favourites for the win in the pub, are going to take some beating, and whilst Los Blancos are a deadly side, he thinks that Man Utd are very well placed to bag a victory.

Personnel
On the field, Man Utd are looking in very good shape as they look to secure a victory.
They have signed a host of players this summer, with Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku being the clear highlights, and that will stand them in very good stead ahead of the game.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, aren’t looking so good – with Gareth Bale’s fitness always a concern as of late whilst Cristiano Ronaldo only recently returned to training.
All things considered, do Man Utd have the advantage on the field? Our landlord reckons so.
The Mourinho Effect
Nobody knows how to win quite like Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager has really impressed at the helm at Old Trafford, and his performances as boss are likely to get even better this season.
He always manages to bring a good performance out of his players on the big stage, and the stage doesn’t come bigger than a game against Real Madrid.
His experience in managing Los Blancos will also stand him in good stead, and he will make sure that his side is very well prepared.
It would take a bold man to bet against Jose.
