Newcastle United supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern in the last couple of weeks after seeing their team lose just one of their last six Premier League games to pull clear of the relegation zone.

Rafa Benitez’s men were just two points clear of danger after they were beaten 3-1 by champions-elect Manchester City back in January, but they have since then won two and drawn three of their six league games to move up to 13th place in the division. The Magpies produced a fine performance to edge Manchester United 1-0 at St James’ Park last month, and they backed that home win up with another last time out by cruising past Southampton 3-0, a result which moved the North East giants five points clear of the drop with just eight matches to go.

Thus, there have been many upbeat Newcastle fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are hoping that their side have enough to stave off relegation this term, enabling them to build and move up the division next time round.

Yet one man who is unlikely to be a part of the future of the club is defender Massadio Haidara, as reports suggest that the 25-year-old is ‘not expected’ to be at St James’ Park come the start of next season.

The left back has made just 53 appearances for the Magpies since his arrival in January 2013, and with just one FA Cup appearance to show for his efforts this season, it’s clear that he is far down on Benitez’s pecking order.

As such, reports suggest that the Frenchman is set to leave Newcastle this summer, and here are TWO other Magpies stars who could follow him out of the exit door…

Karl Darlow

Although there is reportedly no permanent deal in place for Newcastle to sign Martin Dubravka at the end of his loan spell, it does appear as though the Magpies are intent on getting a deal done such has been his fine start to life at the club.

As such, fellow shot-stopper Karl Darlow could well look to move on during the summer.

The 27-year-old was vying with Rob Elliot for the gloves earlier this season and earned ten Premier League appearances as a result, but Dubravka’s arrival has left him firmly rooted to the substitute’s bench.

And with the Slovakia international likely to remain between the sticks between now and the summer, Darlow may well begin thinking about his future at the club ahead of the transfer window.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Despite Newcastle’s goal-scoring problems during the first half of the season, Aleksandar Mitrovic was rarely used by manager Benitez to underline his lowly position in the pecking order.

And that was further emphasised in January when the Serbia international was shipped out on loan to Championship side Fulham, for whom he has impressed with seven goals in nine appearances.

But with the striker seemingly not in Benitez’s plans, a summer move is likely to be in the offing for the 23-year-old, with there likely to be plenty of suitors.
