Rangers are still trying to keep pace at the top of the Scottish Premier League and after some decent results this season, their fans here in the Tavern are feeling optimistic about the years ahead.
Mark Warburton has done a decent job of establishing the team as a top-two side once again and there’s plenty of hope that in years to come, they can catch back up with arch rivals Celtic to reinstate themselves as the biggest side in Scotland.
But with the January transfer window coming to an end in the next couple of days, it’s a big time for the Gers and their supporters. The next couple of days could be decisive in their season and in terms of in-comings and outgoings, the club simply need to get it right.
Rangers fans here in the pub feel that nothing is going to go horrendously wrong but there are certainly some opinions hanging in the air.
So with that in mind, here’s two thoughts every Rangers fan will have ahead of the Tuesday deadline…
Barrie McKay can’t leave the club
Barrie McKay is manager Mark Warburton’s star player and he’s the sort of player who the team should be built around in the coming months.
But with rumours linking him with a move away from the club this January, Gers fans will certainly be worried that he could be set to depart in the final few days of the window.
Rangers need to resist the offers that might come in for the forward, however high they might be.
Fringe players should still leave the club

There’s a handful of players in this Rangers side that should still be thinking about making a move away from the club and the likes of Matt Gilks should be one of them.
With Jak Alnwick on his way to the club, the likes of Matt Crooks and Matt Gilks should certainly be looking for moves away with game-time at Ibrox looking less and less assured.
Rangers fans in the pub are certainly appreciative of the service these lads have put in so far but sometimes, it’s just time to go.
