The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are very proud of their side’s rich history of developing young players…
The Man Utd academy is one of Europe’s most prolific at allowing young players to make their way into the first team, with Marcus Rashford the latest youngster to force his way into contention.
The Class of ’92 are, of course, the most recognisable group of players to make the cut, with the likes of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs going down in Man Utd folklore for their respective breakthroughs.
Now, though, Man Utd could be on the eve of another run of mass progression. Indeed, Jose Mourinho has a lot of responsibility to develop what is arguably one of the most talented batches of young players in recent memory.
Sure, there’s Marcus Rashford, but there are so many young players beyond the Englishman that aren’t yet in the spotlight. Some of them are sure to make an impact, so it’s worth finding out their names and seeing what they can do ahead of time.
With that said, here are 2 under-21 Man Utd players that fans should be keeping an eye on…
Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is a well known name amongst Man Utd fans, but he has gone off the radar somewhat lately.
He has made a number of appearances for the first team, but Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem to rate him as highly as previous managers, and thus a loan to Crystal Palace was sanctioned ahead of this season.
The Dutchman has made a decent start to life at Selhurst Park, having already made a number of first-team appearences, and it look set to be a decent spell for him.
Man Utd fans should certainly be keeping an eye on him over the next few months as he finally finds his feet in the Premier League.
Angel Gomes
Like Fosu-Mensah, Angel Gomes is a highly-rated member of the Man Utd academy, but due to his age he has recieved markedly less attention.
He’s currently developing in-house with the Man Utd youth squads, but he looks destined to make the step up to the professional level in the coming months and years.
He has a habit of scoring incredible goals, and that’s something that is sure to earn him some attention going forward.
The attacker has already made his first-team debut, but expect him to get even more chances going forward. Keep your eyes peeled!
