Having watched their beloved Bhoys win their 100th piece of silverware over the course of the weekend, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t stopped dancing on the pool tables.
Life is good for the Hoops right now as Brendan Rodgers appears to have brought with him a fresh new dynamism, one almost entirely lacking during the Ronny Deila era at Parkhead.
In fact, it’s going so well, that one man who will see his deal in Glasgow run out at the end of the season is looking to extend.
Mikael Lustig has been plying his trade at Celtic Park for five years now, though is free to talk to foreign clubs should they make contact with the 29-year-old in January.
Still, the Swede has been talking to the Glasgow Evening Times about his current contract situation, revealing he is eager to extend his time with the Scottish champions.
It’s been a thoroughly trophy-laden spell, too, with Lustig having picked up four SPFL titles, a Scottish Cup and two League Cups during his stint.
“We will see,” he said.
“I love to play for this club. I have been here for five years and hopefully I can be here a little bit longer.
“My agent has spoken to the club, I think. I do love playing for Celtic. It is a great club and hopefully we can find a solution because I would like to stay here. It is football, sometimes it takes a little bit of time.
“We will have to see what happens but right now I am loving playing football with this group. It has been a great season, there are good times here and it is fun to be part of it.”
