It’s fair to say West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are fairly excited at the prospect of ruining Tottenham’s title dreams this Friday night.

However, with just two wins in their last twelve games, our landlord very much doubts that Slaven Bilic’s men can cause an upset to their bitter London rivals. It is a contrast to last season when the Hammers performed so strongly in the league and with this season being so different, many Irons in the Tavern are saying this year has been somewhat of an anti-climax – especially after the club’s big move to the London Stadium.

With that said, it is important West Ham finish the season strong and with Spurs visiting the London Stadium on Friday night – the Hammers will be looking to avenge the 3-2 loss they suffered at White Hart Lane earlier in the season. In order to do this, our landlord has outlined the XI that Bilic must pick in order to get a result against an in from Spurs side.

Let’s take a look at it here…

GK: Adrian

Adrian has found himself back in the West Ham side of late and hasn’t conceded a goal in his first two games back in the starting XI.

The Spaniard’s reintroduction to the side has seemed to calm down the West Ham defence which will be in for a tough time against Harry Kane and co. this Friday.

CB: Jose Fonte

The Saints fans have been at the resident Hammers in the Tavern following Fonte’s lack of success since joining the Irons from the South Coast side in January.

The Euro 2016 winner hasn’t really hit the form that he showed whilst at St Mary’s but our landlord believes Fonte is too much of a quality centre back to be down for long.

CB: Winston Reid

The big centre back will be looking to avenge his sending off he received last time these two sides met.

Reid is a fans favourite at the London Stadium and our landlord believes he will need to do a job on Harry Kane if the Hammers are to win this one.

CB: James Collins

The Welshman will make up the back three that has employed by Slaven Bilic in recent weeks.

An honest professional, Collins has won most of the hearts from the Tavern’s Hammers due to his fighting tendencies and willing to play for the badge.

RWB: Edimilson Fernandes

The 21-year-old is certainly not short of confidence and even though he is an attacking midfielder by trade, Slaven Bilic has employed Fernandes in the right wing back role of late.

The summer signing from FC Sion has primarily been used from the bench this season and will be looking to grab his chance at the end of this season.

CM: Cheikhou Kouyaté

Possibly the best midfielder that Slaven Bilic has at his disposal, Kouyaté will look to dominate the Spurs midfield if the Hammers are to get a result in this one.

The Senegalese international has also been employed at right back this season but there is no doubt he brings a presence to the centre of West Ham’s midfield.

CM: Mark Noble

Though Noble has been out of the side in recent weeks, his knowledge of how much this game means to the club may mean he gets a start in this one in place of Håvard Nordtveit.

The West Ham captain has not been his usual self this season but a passionate London derby may find a spark in Noble’s performances for the rest of the season.

LWB: Aaron Cresswell

With Arthur Masuaku limping off at half time in last weekend’s game against Stoke, our landlord believes Cresswell will be employed at left wing back this season.

After making his England debut in November, Cresswell has struggled with injuries which has seen him unable to get back in to the Hammers’ side.

CAM: Manuel Lanzini

Scorer from the penalty spot last time West Ham met Spurs, our landlord believes Lanzini will be vital to West Ham’s chances on Friday.

Although the Hammers in the Tavern haven’t celebrated a goal in two games – they believe Lanzini can really cause Tottenham problems in their race for the title.

ST: Andre Ayew

A permanent threat, our landlord believes Ayew is West Ham’s best bet for a goal for Friday night.

The summer signing from Swansea has seen his season blighted by injury but since his return, he has been one of the more positive signs for this Hammers side.

ST: Andy Carroll

Expected to return from a groin injury for this one, could Carroll strike up a partnership with Ayew in the closing stages of the season?

He may not play the full game but our landlord would start him as there is no doubt that Slaven Bilic possesses great fire power in Carroll, Ayew and Diafra Sakho – the struggle is just keeping them fit.
