Chelsea have earned themselves a bit of a reputation both here in the Transfer Tavern and in the wider footballing world as a club that likes to send players out on loan.

The Blues have got so many youngsters at their club they simply do not know where to keep them all, and if you take a look at the Vitesse Arnhem squad over the last few years – you get to see just how many of their players have actually come from Stamford Bridge.

It’s a method that splits opinion but it looks as though they’re going to carry on in that manner regardless, with the Telegraph reporting that Dominic Solanke and Ruben Loftus-Cheek could both be on their way to West Ham in January.

That got our landlord thinking, then – who else might go out on loan from the club in the next window? Here are three names that came up…

Ola Aina

The young right back wasn’t getting near the side when they had a back four so it seems even less likely for now, with the Blues now employing three at the back.

He needs to get out on loan and start playing to learn the trade out on that side, and he may even have to find somewhere where he can develop attributes to be a centre back or a wing back – because that appears to be the direction in which Antonio Conte wants to take his side.

Michy Batshuayi

The young Belgian looks like a good player but would surely benefit from playing rather than being sat on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

He showed for Marseille last season that he can play at a high level but he needs to be continually exposed to that at the moment so he can start improving.

Chelsea risk ruining his development if they cannot find a way for him to start playing regularly one way or another.

Nathaniel Chalobah

Chalobah is another talented footballer at Chelsea that once again finds it difficult to get in the first team. When he has come on this season he has impressed but those small snippets of playing time are not going to help unlock his full potential.

He has the ability to become a Premier League footballer but like all young stars he needs to be playing regularly to even have a chance of doing exactly that.
