Man United fans in the Tavern had become increasingly wary of the liability of Marouane Fellaini having a starting position.
United have endured an impressive start to the season as they start to form their title bid, after a thumping 4-0 win against Crystal Palace prior to the international break it’s got the fans high in spirits as they look to build on this with a tough away fixture at rivals Liverpool.

In Fellaini being a taller and physical player, he lacks the work rate and agility that Herrera poses which, gives the latter the upper hand as pressing is key against sides that are great at keeping possession.
The Spanish maestro has been favoured in big games in the past and this could be long set to continue as he fits the mould. Providing attacking intent, along with the ability to create and hold the ball, this will be vital if United are to prevent Liverpool from scoring and to pose a threat themselves.
Pressing Style of Play
Playing as more of a target man who makes his way into the box to get on the end of crosses, Fellaini certainly is a threat. However, this isn’t as effective when it comes down to playing against a much more steady and established opposition as they like to keep possession.
So, Mourinho will have to adapt to a much more pressing style of play as they look to pile on the pressure to force them into making mistakes.
Change of formation
United so far this season have switched from a 5 back to a 4 back quite frequently as they vary their tactics depending on who the opposition is.
In regards to a 5 back formation, Mourinho opts to go for a more stable and less attacking player as its vital that they aren’t left with one man in midfield. So with them possibly switching to this formation, this could provide a perfect chance for Michael Carrick to come back.
