While Arsene Wenger has splashed the cash on improving his defence and midfield in recent months, Lucas Perez remains somewhat of an unknown quantity to the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern.

The arrival of the Spaniard seemingly came out of left-field for our punters as they begged for a big name forward to spearhead a serious title challenge.

It is odd to see the North London giants struggle in the striking department, such are the wealth of options they’ve had in years gone by.

Though Perez could well prove to be a masterstroke signing, his brief outing in England thus far has indicated the 27-year-old would flourish with a partner.

While not the most glamorous name out there, Benik Afobe has come on leaps and bounds since leaving the Gunners last year.

Impressing for Wolves, he took to life in the Premier League well upon joining Bournemouth in January.

A mobile and direct option, the 23-year-old would be popular amongst the club’s support.

Lukas Podolski

With so many intricate technicians in the Arsenal squad these days, what they need is a lethal forward to simply finish attacks.

There are few more clinical finishers than the World Cup winner, who always proved popular among the Emirates faithful.

Not the most dynamic anymore, but the German would be lethal in popping chances away.

Carlos Vela

Has come on leaps and bounds during his time with Real Sociedad since leaving London.

While he’s barely hitting CR7 or Lionel Messi levels in La Liga, the 27-year-old’s technical ability and old-fashioned centre-forward style would give Wenger a strong option.
