3 players Arsenal fans need to say bye-bye to in January

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have had to deal with a few poor players in recent years…

Arsenal have had a mixed start to the season, though they are beginning to pick up the pace ahead of a title challenge, in what could be Arsene Wenger’s final season at the Emirates.

The mood amongst the Arsenal faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern is buoyant, with many feeling that the Gunners can pose a significant threat this season.

However, a small section of the Arsenal fans in attendance are less confident. They think that there are a number of Arsenal players that are simply not good enough to wear the shirt anymore.

In fact, they feel that Arsene Wenger should look to sell them in January – if they are to stand any chance of a title challenge this season.

With that said, here are THREE players Arsenal fans need to say bye-bye to in January…..

Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott has drawn the ire of the Arsenal fans in the Tavern for years, and this year they are unanimous in their dislike for the Arsenal winger.

He has failed to nail down a first-team spot with the Gunners for years, and his inconsistency makes that unlikely to change.

The Englishman has had numerous attempts to impress on the wing and up front, and has failed every single time.

If Arsenal really want to progress, they need to sell Theo Walcott and sign someone that has something a little more impressive than just very quick legs.

Mathieu Debuchy

Debuchy

Mathieu Debuchy’s demise at Arsenal has been more as a result of circumstance over anything else; but his Arsenal career looks over.

He has fallen behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order with the Gunners, after a long-term leg injury forced him out of the Arsenal picture for nearly an entire season.

He doesn’t look likely to get a look in ahead of Bellerin going forward, and given his age – he is running out of time.

Debuchy has done nothing to prove that he deserves to don Arsenal red going forward, and our landlord thinks he must be sold in January.

Yaya Sanogo

Sanogo

A few of the Arsenal fans in the Tavern had forgotten that Sanogo even existed…

In a strange turn of events, Yaya Sanogo now finds himself back at Arsenal and in the Gunners’ first team squad – which is something that our landlord simply cannot get his head around.

He has looked poor in recent years, with a number of recent loans doing very little to change the minds of the Gunners faithful in the Tavern.

At this point, he is simply taking up valuable space in the first team squad – and he must be sold as a result.

He simply isn’t good enough.
