Who are you? And what have you done with the real Arsene Wenger?! 

In a rather shocking turn of events, the 66-year-old Frenchman has dipped into the transfer market as Deadline Day approaches in a bid to actually, you know, prepare a squad capable of competing.

Lucas Perez has arrived from Deportivo to add some attacking flair to the ranks, while World Cup-winning defender Shkodran Mustafi followed soon enough.

Perhaps the Emirates faithful would be asking for far too much if they hoped Le Prof would move again so late on into the window, though he has surely surprised everyone with a late double deal.

While the Gunners no doubt already boast a squad that would be the envy of most teams, these last few hours provide Wenger with one last chance to get his charges in order for what could be his last season in charge.

Entering the final 12 months on his deal, what a story it would be should he finally secure an elusive fourth Premier League title before his time up.

So, with that in mind, here are THREE players he should sign before the window slams shut.

Moussa Sissoko

Clearly, Wenger isn’t always one to put his hand in his pocket and with Moussa Sissoko impressing at Euro 2016, he could prove to be expensive.

However, the Frenchman would be ideal for the Gunners.

Amid their vast array of intricate technicians, the 27-year-old would provide pace and power in order to burst through stubborn backlines, providing the 66-year-old with a Plan B.

Wilfried Bony

While purchasing an outcast from a domestic rival isn’t the most inspiring of moves, Bony would be an ideal option for Arsenal.

More powerful than Giroud and more direct than Lucas Perez, the Ivorian would give the Gunners a genuine physical threat to spearhead their attacks.

Though he has struggled at Manchester City, he flourished as the bruising point of a slick passing attack while with former club Swansea City.

Jose Fonte

Though Mustafi is now through the door at the Emirates, the departure of Calum Chambers on a season-long loan leaves Wenger a little light.

An experienced head to aid Rob Holding behind both the German and Laurent Koscielny would be ideal, particularly with the club’s injury record.

While tempting Southampton skipper Jose Fonte to North London as a potential backup may not be easy, the 32-year-old would finally give Arsenal some strength and depth.
