Celtic have literally torn the Scottish Premiership apart this season and our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern feels that it’ll only start getting better and better for the Bhoys under current gaffer Brendan Rodgers.

They just need to bring in the right players in the summer to try and push on more in the Champions League rather than faltering at the first hurdle.

This weekend brings a break in the action in the top flight and a chance for Aberdeen and Rangers to have a bit of a rest from knowing how they won’t reach Celtic in the one horse title race.

But it’s no time to rest in terms of getting the scouts out to watch the games to try and prepare for the summer transfer window and for next season.

Celtic have been superb at scouting talent for a number of years now and have a history of signing players cheap like Virgil Van Dijk, Fraser Forster, and most recently Moussa Dembele – although they do have a history of then selling them on for a profit.

However it’s about time that they buy some players that perhaps they can try and keep for longer than a season or two, but either way they should really be scouting these three players during this international break…

THOMAS FOKET

The defender will be featuring for Belgium during the international break and being that he is currently still playing in the Belgian Super League it is very likely that this deal could happen for sure.

The KAA Gent defender has been superb both domestically and in Europe for his side which led to him being called-up by Roberto Martinez – he’d be a great fit into the Celtic defence for sure! But they’ll have to act fast as a number of clubs will surely be chasing the 22-year-old.

ELIAS KACHUNGA

The on-loan Huddersfield striker has been superb in the Championship this season, and the lure of Champions League football could help to tempt him to a permanent move to the Glasgow club.

His parent club Ingolstadt will surely be busy with bids for him this summer, after his impressive campaign this term. Celtic should try and lure him to the club, especially if they are at risk of losing Dembele or even if they don’t as a potential partner or back-up for the free scoring Frenchman.

JAKUB JANTKO

The highly regarded Udinese midfielder could be a perfect fit to slot into the Celtic midfield alongside Nir Bitton and Stuart Armstrong.

He’ll surely come at a bit of a cost but would be worth taking a chance on for Rodgers. Jankto will be featuring for Czech Republic in their World Cup qualifying games and will be one to watch for sure – keep and eye out for this lad in the future.
