What a season it has been to be a fan at Stamford Bridge following last season’s title success it has been one that Chelsea fans will quickly want to forget.
The most successful manager in the club’s history Jose Mourinho was sacked months into the season with the club seemingly in a relegation battle and replaced by Dutchman Guus Hiddink.
Since Hiddink’s arrival there has been an upturn in form for the club, with improved performances on the pitch from the likes of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas and an upturn in results has seen the club rise to tenth place in the league.
Now the time has come for the fans to make the tricky decision of who they think deserves to be the club’s player of the year.
Our landlord here in The Transfer Tavern has come up with THREE names he feels the fans could pick as their player of the yea,r in what has been a disastrous campaign for the reigning champions……

John Terry
John Terry is in his final season at Chelsea and would have wanted to go out on a high, but that was not to be as they have now exited both the Champions League and the FA Cup.
It could be the sentimental vote from the fans that could see Terry chosen as the club’s player of the season.
The big centre back has spent his entire career at Stamford Bridge and as yet his destination for next season has yet to be revealed, but one thing is for certain it will be an emotional day at Stamford Bridge when he takes to the field for the final time for the club.
Thibaut Courtois
The Belgian international goalkeeper has had another good season between the posts at Stamford Bridge this season.
His commanding presence sorely missed when he was both injured and suspended earlier this season, and it’s no surprise that the club have seen an upturn in form since he has been playing more regularly.
At 23, he still has the best years of his career to come and the Chelsea fans will be hoping to see him play for their side for many years to come.
Willian
The Brazilian has had another fine season for the club despite the sides struggles this term.
Willian has made 42 appearances for the club and netted 10 times with six assists, and his 110% effort to the cause will not go unnoticed by the fans at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old has shown what a shrewd buy he was, and will no doubt be a player that will be remembered by Chelsea’s fans for years to come.
With two years left to run on his current deal many of Chelsea’s fans will be keen to see the robust Brazilian sign a longer term deal with the club.
