3 potential January signings Conte must watch in the international break

Chelsea have had a bit of a wobble recently and our local Blues fans aren’t sure where they are going to end up this season.

They started the season off well enough.

Ten points from the opening four games saw many begin to consider the Stamford Bridge outfit as potential title challengers, with a number of their best players seemingly back to firing on full cylinders but then the wheels fell off.

Back to back losses to Liverpool and Arsenal put the brakes on somewhat, before a win against Hull went some way to restoring normal service.

Many feel they could do with some new players though and they could just come in January as Antonio Conte begins to truly see what he has in his side.

Our landlord reckons the Italian should use the international break as a way of scouting potential new recruits and reckons these three would be perfect…

Leonardo Bonucci

Bonuccichels

Bonucci is a world class defender and Chelsea have shown they need one drastically when John Terry is out of the side.

The captain can’t play forever so a replacement is still needed with question marks persisting over David Luiz and Gary Cahill and the Juventus man would be perfect to take over.

Alvaro Morata

morata

Morata hasn’t played anywhere near as much as he should have so far this season for Real Madrid and could use this international break to show potential new clubs what he can do.

Diego Costa will know him well enough to from the national team set up and it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Conte has told his striker to test the water with the Real man.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Koulibaly is in the Senegal side for the African section of the World Cup qualifiers and could be the man Chelsea need to get in at centre-half instead of Bonucci.

He has signed a new contract with Napoli in recent weeks and that’ll bump his price tag up but can Chelsea afford to not get a player in for that centre-half position?

Our landlord reckons no is the answer.
