The summer transfer window this year could live long in the memory of the Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern and around the world, if things go to plan.

The Red Devils announced Jose Mourinho as their manager before bringing in the huge names of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as they look to get the Premier League title back at Old Trafford.

If they can, it’ll have been a successful window but if not questions will inevitably asked.

If things aren’t going well in January, though, they can still sign more players and you can bet that’s just what they’ll do if they need to.

Antoine Griezmann

In the next couple of years Zlatan Ibrahimovic is going to retire and United will need another world-class forward to take up the mantle.

They’ll be hoping Marcus Rashford can do so but they’ll surely be looking at someone like Griezmann to help him out.

He’s started this season on fire once again and looks like he could get into any side in the world.

Raphael Varane

Varane is back in the France squad after missing out on EURO 2016 through injury, and will want to prove why he should be starting for Real Madrid or he’ll have to move elsewhere.

That elsewhere could be to Manchester United who would certainly benefit from his ability whilst Mourinho is already a fan of him from their time in Spain.

Dani Carvajal

Carvajal is a world class right back and would easily get into the side over Antonio Valencia.

Make no mistake, Valencia has done admirably out of position for United but will always make mistakes and for a side trying to win the title, that isn’t good enough.

A big bid would be needed but United have shown they’re more than ready to pay up if needed.
