3 transfers Arsenal should look to tie up in the first week of January

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been pretty impressed with what they’ve seen so far this season…

The Gunners are currently sat in fourth in the Premier League, and in truth – this season they don’t really look like challenging for the Premier League trophy.

Arsene Wenger has got his side playing very well, though it seems to be very sporadic – and our landlord thinks that with a few minor tweaks in January, they can bring some consistency to the club.

The Arsenal first team is definitely a strong group of players, but a few positions are, arguably, weaker than others – and Wenger should really look to improve them if he wants to impress in the months to come.

January is fast approaching, and the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern think that these are 3 transfers that Arsenal should look to tie up in the first week of January…

Niklas Sule

Niklas Sule is likely to be a man-in-demand in January, with the impressive young German defender proving to be a vital part of Hoffenheim’s success in the Bundesliga.

At just 21-years-old, Sule is already an established member of Hoffenheim’s first team, and a big money move looks destined in the coming years.

Arsenal have an impressive defensive duo in Mustafi and Koscielny, but Wenger would be wise to add a bit of depth – as Mertesacker and Gabriel are not good enough.

Sule would be a great option for the present and future.

Julian Draxler

Julian Draxler is another name that you can expect to hear passed around in the Transfer Tavern frequently next month, and it is easy to see why.

The German has long been touted as the next best thing coming out of Germany, and after being left out of Wolfsburg’s squad in recent weeks – a move looks to be on the cards.

With confusion looming over the futures of both Sanchez and Ozil, Draxler could represent a fantastic option for Wenger. Offers goals, technique and driving runs – Draxler is perfect for the Premier League .

 Yacine Brahimi

Yacine Brahimi is a less high-profile option than the rest, but for Wenger – he could be just the ticket.

Particularly if Draxler is unavailable, Brahimi would represent a different option, but still one that would be hugely useful for the French boss.

Known for his electric pace and expert finishing, Brahimi has been impressive for Porto this season, and a big money move could be on the cards.

He is fairly similar to Walcott in his play style, though a few of the continental football experts in the Tavern have touted him as a far better player.
