The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are having a bit of a mixed spell under Pep Guardiola as of late…

An excellent start has been marred in recent weeks by a succession of poor results, and what appeared set to be a straightforward title win for the Citizens is quickly turning into something far more difficult.

With each passing week, the Manchester giants’ need for more quality is becoming clearer.

The good news for Guardiola is that January is fast approaching, and with that comes the re-opening of the transfer market – meaning that the Spaniard can look to invest and improve his squad.

There are a host of players that should be on Guardiola’s radar, and given the significance of the post-Christmas Premier League push – he needs to be signing them sooner, rather than later.

With that said, here are THREE transfers Man City should look to tie up in the first week of January…

Ederson Morais

Ederson Morais is, according to the Sun, a key target for Guardiola ahead of Joe Hart’s return to the club at the end of the season.

The Sun note that Morais likely wouldn’t join until the end of the season, but it would make sense to get this deal done quickly and remove many confusion for everyone at the Etihad.

With Bravo struggling in the Premier League, the Man City fans in the Tavern are beginning to get concerned – and so this move would likely ease their concerns somewhat too.

Koke

Koke is, undoubtedly, one of Europe’s finest midfielders – and according to Marca, Guardiola is right on his trail.

Marca note that Guardiola has made him a primary target going forward, and there is no doubting how crucial he would be for Man City’s Premier League title push.

A deep-lying playmaker by trade, Koke is versatile and is able to play anywhere across the midfield, and would take a bit of the pressure off of Kevin De Bruyne in the heart of the Man City attack.

The thought of both De Bruyne and Koke being available to spray balls forward to Aguero is a mouth-watering prospect.
