It doesn’t get any easier for Swansea City in the Premier League, who face a tricky-looking away trip to Goodison Park this weekend, and their supporters here in the Tavern are looking concerned!

The South Wales side have been in dire form for the majority of this campaign and have been the butt of many jokes here in the pub, despite bringing in Bob Bradley to turn fortunes around.

But he’s had little impact so far and two consecutive 3-1 defeats mean they’re still in the bottom three.

Meanwhile, over in Merseyside, things had been going alright for Everton under Ronaldo Koeman, until they were ruthlessly but to the sword by Chelsea before the international break.

They went down 5-0 at Stamford Bridge in what was a perfect Chelsea performance. But despite the battering, we’re still tipping Everton to beat Swansea, who have been so poor at times this campaign.

As good as they made Chelsea look at times, Koeman has largely had a huge impact on the Toffees, who look a stronger outfit altoghether under his watch.

So armed with some selection advice from our pub landlord, here’s our Everton XI that will easily defeat Swansea City on Saturday…

Maaten Stekelenburg

Despite conceding five at the Bridge a couple of weeks ago, Maarten Stekelenburg remains the best option Everton have between the sticks.

Prior to the defeat he’d be good on a number of occasions and should keep his place for the game against Swansea.

Seamus Coleman

Very much a sure-fire starter for Everton these days, Seamus Coleman will be in the side for the game against struggling Swansea.

He loves to get forward and help out his attackers which could spell bad news for Swansea, who have been poor defensively all season.

Ashley Williams

Had his first taste of hardship in an Everton shirt at the Bridge and he’ll be looking to give a commanding performance against his former employers.

He spent most of his career with the Swans and despite doing well for them, he’d love to get one over on his former side.

Phil Jagielka

Has formed quite the partnership with Ashley Williams since his arrival at the club but against Chelsea, things were far too loose.

Jagielka will be hoping to return to winning ways over a Swansea team that have offered little in attack on so many occasions this term.

Bryan Oviedo

Has finally put his injury woes behind him and is enjoying a good run in the Everton first-team for the first time in months under Ronald Koeman.

The Costa Rican international has had to reign in his attacking tendencies at times but remains a real threat on the counter-attack for the Toffees.

Idrissa Gueye

Was suspended for the game against Chelsea and boy did you know it.

The former Villa man has been superb for Everton since joining this summer and they really missed him as Chelsea scored five at the Bridge.

But he’s back for the game against Swansea and he will start the game.

Gareth Barry

Looked a little lost with Tom Cleverley beside him at times during the loss against Chelsea so Gareth Barry will be as relieved as the Everton faithful to have Gueye back this weekend.

The pair have looked fantastic alongside one another and will hope to keep Swansea out for the entire 90 minutes.

Ross Barkley

Ross Barkley is back in the Everton first-team and seems to be enjoying some good early season form too.

The young Englishman had struggled at times during last season’s campaign but under Koeman, he seems to be playing with far more freedom and enjoyment.

Swansea will hope he’s off his game on Saturday or it could be a long afternoon.

Yannick Bolasie

Netted Congo’s winner in their victory over Guinea on Sunday evening and it’s more good form he’ll hope to take into his league commitments with the Toffees.

He’s had a good start to life in blue but will hope to really pick things up, starting against Swansea this weekend.

Kevin Mirallas

It was a tough game for Kevin Mirallas to come into as a sub against Chelsea, but we think the Belgian should start the game against lowly Swansea City.

He’s a player that loves getting forward and running and people – and why not throw him into the mix against one of the division’s weakest sides so far?

Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku cut a frustrated figure in the game against Chelsea and he was right to feel a little isolated.

He didn’t get the service he usually has and he’ll be looking to bounce back and get amongst the goals against Swansea.

We know how good the Belgian powerhouse is but he will need to start scoring again to maintain his good start to the campaign.
