All eyes will be on Old Trafford this Saturday as Manchester United play host to Arsenal, and their supporters here in the Tavern are feeling pretty nervous about the game!

United have been in mixed form this season but after a much-needed 3-1 victory over Swansea City a couple of weeks ago, things finally look to be getting back on track.

But a game against Arsenal is never an easy affair and whilst Mourinho will want to get one over on his rival, this won’t be a walk in the park for United in the slightest.

They’ll have to be at their very best if they’re to get anything out of the game, with consistency being their main downfall for the majority of the season so far.

But armed with some tips from our United-mad landlord, we’re actually tipping the Reds to pick up all three points on Saturday.

So with that in mind, here’s the Man United XI that Mourinho must field to get the win over the Gunners…..

GK: David De Gea

One of the Premier League’s best, David De Gea will start the game at the Theatre of Dreams.

RB: Antonio Valencia

Antonio Valencia has shaken off a slight injury concern and is increasingly likely to start the game against the Gunners.

He gives an incredibly attacking option over on the right-hand side and it will be a tough afternoon for Monreal or Gibbs, one of whom will have to keep the Ecuadorian quiet throughout.

CB: Phil Jones

Was back in the United first-team after a long spell out in the game against Swansea and you can’t drop a player who was solid throughout, especially whilst the rest of the team have struggled for form.

He’ll be in at the deep end against the Gunners, but these are the games he has to impress in if he’s to get his United career back on track.

CB: Daley Blind

We’re tipping Dutch utility man Daley Blind to make a return to the first-team for the game against the Gunners.

After a dodgy couple of displays, we think Blind should come back into the starting XI against Arsenal over Marcos Rojo, who has been too inconsistent at United.

LB: Matteo Darmian

Again, you’ve got to give Matteo Darmian a lot of credit for the way he conducted himself during the Swansea game.

He’s been out of the first-team fold for a while now but when given the opportunity, he was solid and helped his side to the win.

Deserves to stay in the team.

CM: Michael Carrick

With Ander Hererra still out suspended, responsibility will fall on the shoulders of Michael Carrick to pick up the pieces in the United midfield once again.

He’s a solid option with plenty of experience in the middle-of-the-park and he’ll be looking to pull the strings with Paul Pogba riding further up the pitch.

CM: Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba is finally beginning to pick up form at United and his resurgence is coming at a very good time for United.

He was fantastic in the game against Swansea City but the game against Arsenal will be completely different.

It will be a tough test against one of the division’s best- and Pogba will have to be on his best form.

RW: Jesse Lingard

We think Jesse Lingard will return to the side for the game against Arsenal, with Wayne Rooney expected to miss the game through injury.

The Englishman was dropped for the game against Swansea but will be fully recovered and ready to go for a crunch tie with the Gunners.

CAM: Juan Mata

We’d like to see Mata take up a central role with Wayne Rooney out through injury. The Spaniard has been an excellent source of creativity all season but at times, has been let down by some poor play by teammates.

But Mata has a good track record against the Gunners and he’ll be hoping to be the difference.

LW: Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has endured one of the tougher spells of his United career so far in recent weeks, but we’re tipping him to really bounce back in the game against the Gunners.

The youngster is blessed with bags of pace and bagged a double in this fixture back in February and he’ll be hoping to find that form once again.

ST: Wayne Rooney

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic banned, Wayne Rooney has to be the man to make the step up.

He hasn’t been in the best form this season, but neither has Zlatan – and Rooney has the strength of character to ensure an eventual return to form.

He loves a big game – expect a goal.
