The initial unbridled joy on the faces of Manchester City fans earlier this season has subsided somewhat in recent weeks here in the Transfer Tavern.
After kicking off the season, and Pep Guardiola’s era in charge of the club, in emphatic style by winning their first ten games in a row in all competitions, things have gone off course a little bit.
It’s not a full-blown crisis as some would love to term it but the run of results City have had since drawing at Celtic in the Champions League have certainly been nothing to write home about.
The Citizens have lost to Spurs and drawn at home to Everton and Southampton in the time since as well as being battered by Barcelona and that’s left their supporters here in the bar thinking it’s not going to be a great season after all.
But, there’s no need to worry just yet, City fans.
Our landlord reckons you’ve still got plenty to be happy about and thinks these four things are top of the list…
Best player in the league

This isn’t a bad thing to be happy about.
The Argentine striker is the best in the league when he’s fit and firing whilst he’s also one of the best strikers in the world.
City always have a chance in even the biggest games when he is in the side and that has to be remembered when the going gets slightly tough as it is at the moment.
The Etihad outfit will surely start winning games again soon and Aguero is likely to be the catalyst for it.
Pep Guardiola

Having arguably the best manager in the world isn’t a bad way of making you smile if you’re a City fan.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss is one of the most coveted in world football and City are only just getting used to his methods so things can only get better.
Given that they’re doing pretty well now anyway that is certainly something to be happy about for our resident Sky Blues punters.
Still top

It could be worse City fans, look at where United are. In fact, look at where the rest of the league are.
City, despite their recent run of average form are still top of the league and effectively can just go again from now.
As long as they regroup and start winning again quickly they’re still going to be the team to beat this season and that means they’re fans still have a lot to smile about.
Vincent Kompany is back

Vincent Kompany is back and fully fit and that will only come as a boost to City fans.
He’s arguably the best defender in the league and when you consider that the club already had a decent looking spine without him in the side things aren’t all that bad.
John Stones will only get better playing alongside him, too, so their fortunes should be about to turn positive again.
