The Transfer Tavern is a hive of activity again this evening with fans from various clubs enjoying the vast amount of beers and spirits on offer.

Following cross city rivals Manchester City appointment of Pep Guardiola as the club’s head coach from next season, talk has turned to who the next manager at Old Trafford should be should they decide to dispense of the services of current boss Louis Van Gaal in the summer.
The landlord of The Tavern has set the fans a challenge and that is to name five potential replacements who they feel would rival Guardiola in becoming Manchester United’s next manager.

Jose Mourinho
The former Chelsea manager has been touted as the next Manchester United manager since his dismissal from Chelsea.
His previous battles with Guardiola during there time at Real Madrid and Barcelona will stand them in good stead, and many corners of the football would would love to see them up against each other in the same league once more.
One famous flashpoint between Gurdiola and Mourinho was when the latter got involved in a touchline brawl with one Guardiola’s coaching staff which resulted in Mourinho clearly gouging his opponents eye.
Should the Portuguese manager take up the mantal at Old Trafford one thing is for sure a Manchester derby will be anything but a quiet event.
Rafael Benitez
Another former Champions League winning manager who is currently out of work following his sacking from La Liga side Real Madrid.
A proven winner who has had success at many of the club’s he has been with, including two Champions League finals with fierce rivals Liverpool winning one and losing.
Benitez would bring organisation and commitment and a brand of football that can sometimes be dull but brings success.
How willing the Manchester United fans would be willing to support a former Liverpool boss as manager would remain to be seen, but no one can doubt his credentials.
Diego Simeone
The hard headed Argentinian could be open to a move to the Premier League during the summer.
His combative approach on the field is exactly the same on the touchline as it was on the field and his sides are always ready for battle.
He has worked wonders at Atletico Madrid turning them back into the title contenders of old.
Should he make the move to England he would be a breath of fresh air, and if given the opportunity he will take it with both hands.
Manuel Pellegrini
With the Chilean manager being dispensed of by current employers Manchester City to be replaced by the aforementioned Guardiola would he be willing to make the move to Old Trafford.
What better way to show your former employers what they are missing than taking over their closest rivals and lead them to glory.
The Chilean’s attacking style will attract many suitors and with the Manchester United fans wanting a more attacking brand of football he could be the breath of fresh air they desire.
