4 thoughts every Manchester City fan has 100% had this season

Manchester City are flying this season and our resident City punters here in the Transfer Tavern can’t get enough of their team, and their performances this season.

With Pep Guardiola as their manager, another thing they are over the moon at, they feel like they cannot be stopped and most evidence suggests that it will be hard for another team to beat them to the title.

City went on a ten game winning streak to kick off Guardiola’s tenure in fine style and despite their first loss of the season last weekend against Spurs, they are still the team everyone needs to beat.

Our landlord reckons he knows the City fans pretty well from listening to them on the other side of the bar for years, and after the start to this season these FOUR thoughts are bound to have been had by them all over…

Going unbeaten all season

It’s arguably not just City fans that thought this could happen.

The club started the Premier League season in emphatic style winning six from six and had a real air of invincibility around them until Spurs beat them.

Before then, they swept aside all comers including Manchester United so you’d have been forgiven for thinking another ‘Invincibles’ season was upon us.

Is Claudio Bravo that much of an improvement?

The desperation with which Bravo was sought after by Pep Guardiola suggested that he was light years ahead of Joe Hart in ability but so far that’s really up for debate.

Sure, the Chilean can play with his feet like few other ‘keepers but in truth it’s caused City a number of problems already as many of their players around him cannot deal with the ball that close to goal.

The jury is well and truly out on this one.

How is Yaya Toure still a City player?

Yaya Toure

One of the cornerstones on which City won their first Premier League title, the Ivorian will always be a favourite at the Etihad.

He is, however, past it and yet Pep Guardiola, who clearly doesn’t rate him, still has him in the squad.

There’s all kinds of politics involving Toure’s agent too at the moment and so, quite frankly, he can’t be a City player for much longer surely.

Sergio Aguero is the best striker in the world

Aguero has been devastatingly good and it has to be said you’d be hard pressed to find a better out and out striker in world football right now.

The only one our landlord can think of that is better is Luis Suarez so that is some compliment to the Argentine’s prowess.

He can win games on his own in top form and despite City’s wealth of talent, very few get near him in terms of importance to the side.
