It has been a turbulent start to the season for Slaven Bilic’s side and West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are becoming seemingly impatient with the club’s poor form.

Andy Carroll, Aaron Cresswell and new summer signing Andre Ayew are among some of Hammers’ key men undergoing recovery, but question marks have been raised as to whether there should be a change in management at Olympic Park.

Michail Antonio’s form has been sensational for West Ham so far, but even he has been unable to prevent what has been a dismal start since moving to the new stadium.

The East London side have struggled to deal with what is, in some ways, a new era of Premier League football, losing five of their first six fixtures, and shipping 16 goals – almost a third of their total conceded last season.

With this in mind, our landlord believes there are four players who are nothing but making up the numbers for West Ham, and that should exit the club in the January 2017 window…

 Diafra Sakho

The Senagalese striker handed in a transfer request in the summer after falling out with the club after a touchline rift in April.

Having an unhappy, unwanted player in and around the dressing room does not do anyone any favours for what one can only imagine is a troubled atmosphere around the London Stadium.

He is definitely a talented player, so West Ham should be able to make a bit of money from his sale.

 James Collins

The Scotsman made just 19 appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers last season and, at age 33, he is looking a bit off the pace so far this term.

The 4-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion exemplified Collins’ lack of leadership amongst the makeshift Hammers backline, but not only that – he has not been sharp enough to sense the danger so far this season.

He has been benched a few times already this season, and it seems as though Bilic is eyeing a replacement.

 Cheikhou Kouyate

This one may come as a surprise to some West Ham fans, but whilst Kouyate can give off an air of composure and class – the reality is the Senegalese international has not been at it since the opening few months of his West Ham career.

Kouyate is continuing to look more and more like a converted centre back playing in midfield. He registers an abundance of missed placed passes week-in-week-out, whilst offering little creativity going forward.

Let Harvard Nordtveit play the role he’s been brought in to, let Pedro Obiang stay to give Nordveit a rest, and give young Sam Byram a chance to play and learn his trade in the Premier League at right-back.

Reece Oxford

This is not a plea to sell Oxford because of poor performances, or ill behaviour, etc.

Reece Oxford has been at West Ham since the age of 12 and has not long ago signed a long-term contract with the club – he is West Ham’s future.

But at 17 years old, he is unlikely to put together a run of games in the Premier League with West Ham. This can decrease the rate of speed in which he can develop as a player, it would be a positive move for Bilic to hand Oxford a six-month loan to a lower league side in January.
