Arsenal may not have managed to get that elusive victory over Chelsea and Jose Mourinho last weekend, but the Gunners are still perhaps the best placed of all sides to achieve a second placed finish this term.
Eight consecutive wins prior to last weekend’s goalless draw against the Champions elect had Wenger’s side down as the form team in the country, whilst the Gunners also secured another FA Cup final the previous week by beating Reading in the semi final at Wembley.
A runners up spot and the FA Cup would represent a decent campaign for the Gunners, who will hope a faster start next season can see them launch a serious assualt on the title.

Jack Wilshere v Manchester City
A sweet moment for Jack Wilshere arrived in the Arsenal vs Manchester City clash with the England midfielder coming into the season with something of a point to prove.
This was a timely reminder of the class he has in his locker after exchanging passes with Aaron Ramsey and coolly lifting the ball over the on-rushing Joe Hart to make the score 1-1. The goal capped what had been a fine individual performance from the England international.
Sadly for Wilshere and Arsenal fans, this has been his only Premier League goal of the season – with injury proving his downfall once again.
Alexis Sanchez v Manchester City
And the goal that put the Gunners 2-1 up in the same game was even better, with Alexis Sanchez going some way towards proving Arsene Wenger was right to splash £35million on him in the summer.
The Chilean powered the ball with placement and accuracy over Joe Hart and into the top corner on the volley to give Arsenal the lead, although sadly for Gunners fans, it didn’t turn out to be the worthy winner – with Martin Demichelis of all people heading home the City equaliser.

Aaron Ramsey v Galatasary
Moments like this are becoming more and more frequent over the course of Aaron Ramsey’s Arsenal career; yet like Jack Wilshere, it is all about how often he can stay fit.
His strike at Galatasaray in the Champions League group game will go down as a contender for the goal of his career so far.
The Welshman met a loose ball on the edge of the box with an unstoppable first time strike that flew into the top corner.

Alexis Sanchez v Liverpool
Those keen to criticise will suggest Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet should have done more to stop this strike from Alexis Sanchez, but the power and quality of the strike and the importance of the game will see it remembered as one of the favourite Arsenal goals of the season.
And the fact it put the Gunners 3-0 up before half time against one of their major rivals is another small reason as well we suppose.
Collecting the ball from Aaron Ramsey, Sanchez took one touch to turn Kolo Toure on the edge of the box, before unleashing a piledriver beyond Mignolet and into the roof of the net, to seal three points and all but confirm a top four place for the Gunners.

Olivier Giroud v Liverpool
Arsenal fans believe they would have made a better attempt at challenging for the title had Oliveri Giroud not missed the opening two and a half months of the season.
The Frenchman has enjoyed a fine season, and capped off one of the most memorable wins of the season with a superb fourth goal against Liverpool.
Cutting inside on the hapless Kolo Toure, Giroud bent an unstoppable strike beyond Simon Mignolet into the top corner to seal a 4-1 victory, and a memorable day for the Gunners.
